I have acne-prone skin and I'm afraid wearing sunscreen everyday will make it worse. What should I do?
Such a great question, this really is a huge misconception in the beauty industry. If you have acne-prone skin, we actually recommend using a Mineral / Physical SPF filter (Zinc Oxide and or Titanium Dioxide) like Sunny Skin Super Sun or Glow Filter SPF50 because Chemical UV filter can be highly irritating for Sensitive & Acne prone skin types. Chemical vs Physical/ Mineral Sunscreen - What's the difference?
Physical SPF, also known as mineral, sits on top of the skin
and reflects the sun’s rays without penetrating the deeper layers of the skin.
Chemical SPF absorbs into the skin and then absorbs UV rays,
converts the rays into heat, and releases them from the body. Testing showed
that from just a single application it increased the blood levels of the
actives in chemical SPF for days & even weeks.

Yes, preserving our oceans & sea life is one thing we wouldn’t compromise on. As a part of our formulation philosophy we would not risk using ingredients that have been flagged for potential high environmental risk.
Do any of the Sunny Skin products contain oxybenzone?
No, we are proud to say this is not an ingredient you will ever find in any Sunny Skin sunscreen or product.
Oxybenzone is used in many sunscreens as a UVB and UVA filter, the issue is, it is absorbed through the skin which has been associated to hormone disruptors. In addition, it’s been such a common trigger for allergic reactions that it has been named the Allergen of the Year by the American Academy of Dermatology. Sunny Skin’s products are oxybenzone-free and instead use safe ingredients that provide broad spectrum protection.
